Jacqueline Ramos is named 2018 J. Ward Walker Honoree

Jacqueline Ramos was recognized as the 2018 J. Ward Walker Lecturer by East Texas Baptist University on Monday, April 23. Each year, the ETBU Integration of Faith and Learning Committee acknowledges a faculty or staff member as the J. Ward Walker Honoree to lead the lecture series. During the University's chapel service, Ramos reminded the ETBU community that faith and calling must influence every aspect of a believer's life.

ETBU and Wiley College perform Jubilate Deo

East Texas Baptist University united with Wiley College for Jubilate Deo on Friday, April 13. The concert featured a full orchestra and choirs from both institutions. Sponsored by Central Perks, Jack Cargill, Jucy's Hamburgers, Judge Richard and Christina Anderson, and Marshall News Messenger, the event emphasized the importance of community.

ETBU honors Steve and Penny Carlile at Sam B. Hall, Jr. Lecture Series

East Texas Baptist University recognized Steve and Penny Carlile as the 2018 Sam B. Hall Civic Service Award honorees for their lifelong support of the city of Marshall on Tuesday, April 17 during the 23rd annual Sam B. Hall, Jr. Lecture Series. Since 2010, ETBU has presented an award to a person or persons in recognition of their exemplary Christian service and significant contributions to community life.

ETBU Admissions invites prospective students to experience campus life

East Texas Baptist University hosted more than 1,000 prospective students on campus for preview events during the Spring 2018 semester. Each event consists of an organization fair, an academic showcase, informational sessions, a student panel, and campus tours. Preview events, designed to provide a comprehensive perspective of life at ETBU, offer opportunities to meet with current students, faculty and staff, admissions counselors, and financial aid and academic advisors.

ETBU senior Kayla Barrentine crowned as Miss ETBU 2018

Senior Music Education major Kayla Barrentine of Canton was crowned as the 62nd Miss ETBU on Saturday, April 7. Barrentine, an active member of the ETBU community as a member of concert choir, Tiger Marching Band, National Association for Music Educators, Association for Texas Professional Educators, and the Baptist Student Ministry, was selected from eight contestants as Miss ETBU 2018 at the annual scholarship pageant sponsored by ETBU's Student Government Association.
