School of Christian Studies and Humanities Academic Conference

The School of Christian Studies and Humanities recently held a small academic conference sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta, Sigma Tau Delta and Theta Alpha Kappa. The idea for this conference was first conceived as an opportunity for students to gain experience presenting academic work in an environment that is encouraging and familiar. Although the conference is on a very small scale, it is designed to introduce students to the structure and format they might encounter at a large conference.

Seven ETBU faculty members receive promotions

Seven faculty members at East Texas Baptist University recently received promotions, including Dr. Patrick Antinone (Associate Professor of Music), Dr. Nathan Phillips (Associate Professor of Music), Dr. Kate Mead (Associate Professor of Communication), Mr. Dan Streety (Associate Professor of Communication), Mr. Jake Yenish (Associate Professor of Theatre Arts), Dr. Nicole Fant (Associate Professor of Nursing), and Dr. Ellis Purdie (Professor of Languages and Literature).

East Texas Baptist University Honors the J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation at Good Samaritan Award & ETBU Scholarship Dinner

East Texas Baptist University recognized the J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation as the 2025 ETBU Good Samaritan Award recipient on Thursday, February 20, at the Great Commission Center on ETBU's campus. Inspired by the parable in Luke 10:25-37, the Good Samaritan Award & ETBU Scholarship Dinner celebrates individuals and organizations who exemplify the spirit of "loving your neighbor as yourself."

ETBU Hilltop Singers Performed Showcase Concert at TMEA Annual Conference

The East Texas Baptist University Hilltop Singers were invited to perform a showcase concert at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Annual Conference, which took place February 12-15, 2025, in San Antonio. This opportunity placed the Hilltop Singers among the most outstanding performing ensembles across Texas, showcasing their excellence and the distinction of ETBU’s Music Department.
