East Texas Baptist University acknowledged two students on Monday, October 8 for their service to the campus and community. Seniors Mpanga Chanda from Lusaka, Zambia, and Sheldon McGowan from Tyler, Texas, were awarded the Bob and Gayle Riley Servant Leadership Award during a special chapel service. ETBU President Emeritus Bob Riley and his wife, Gayle, presented the students with a replica of the “Divine Servant” statue, created by Max Greiner, that stands outside of ETBU’s Ornelas Spiritual Life Center.

East Texas Baptist University held its eighth annual Great East Texas Hymn Sing on Friday, September 14 at 1:00 p.m. in Baker Chapel of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center. Open to the ETBU campus and local church community, the event included two hours of the great hymns of the Christian faith and a fellowship reception.

East Texas Baptist University held its annual 2018 Fall Convocation chapel service on Friday, September 7 at 10:00 a.m. Convocation, a tradition among academic institutions across the country, is designed to celebrate the beginning of a new academic year by bringing together students, faculty, staff, and trustees.

MARSHALL, Texas (4/6/15) - Starting of NCAA Division III Week in chapel on Monday morning, East Texas Baptist University student-athletes were recognized for their accomplishments. All student-athletes stood up in chapel and chaplain Bryant read off the accomplishments of ETBU athletics to this point this year in the American Southwests Conference for all-conference and academic all-conference.
