MNM: Program at Marshall High School to Offer Reduced Cost College Courses Through ETBU

MNM: MARSHALL, Texas (2/12/16) - Beginning this fall, Marshall High School juniors and seniors will be able to become East Texas Baptist University students without ever leaving their high school classroom.

School leaders from both institutions as well as the Marshall ISD Education Foundation joined together Thursday to announce the launch of Maverick University, a program that allows MHS juniors and seniors to earn up to 27 college credit hours while still in high school.

ETBU Releases 2015 Fall Dean’s List with Honors and Dean’s List

MARSHALL, Texas (1/15/16) – East Texas Baptist University announces students for outstanding academic achievement during the 2015 Fall Semester. Listed below are the names of students earning recognition to the ETBU Dean’s List with Honors and Dean’s List. Students are sorted in alphabetical order by home town. 

The Dean’s List with Honors are students who have a 3.5 grade point average or above. The Dean’s List is students who have a 3.25 to 3.49 grade point average.

ETBU Graduates 82 During Fall Commencement

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (12/20/15) - "A time of worship and celebration" is how Dr. J. Blair Blackburn, president of East Texas Baptist University, described Saturday's fall commencement, as ETBU bestowed degrees upon 82 graduates.

"Some universities have both the baccalaureate religious service and commencement ceremony (at different times)," Blackburn said. "At ETBU, both programs are joined together in both services.

ETBU To Hold Fall Commencement on Dec. 19th

MARSHALL, Texas (12/16/15) - East Texas Baptist University will hold Fall Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center on campus. Presiding will be ETBU President Dr. J. Blair Blackburn with 64 students receiving undergraduate degrees and 18 students receiving master's degrees for a total of 82.

ETBU Students, Staff Celebrate Upcoming Holiday Season

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (12/1/15) - East Texas Baptist University students, staff and faculty know Jesus is the true reason for this upcoming holiday season, university President Blair Blackburn said Tuesday during the university's annual "Christmas on the Hill" celebration.

"We at East Texas Baptist University know that Christ is the true meaning behind Christmas," Blackburn said. "Christmas is about the hope, joy and love that comes from God through His son, Christ our savior."
