ETBU Theatre ends season with a show ‘stop’ping performance

East Texas Baptist University's Theatre Department, led by student director, junior Laramie Smith, told the story of strangers stranded at a small roadside diner outside of Kansas City, Missouri during a winter blizzard with their production of Bus Stop, a play by William Inge. The ensemble performed for four sold-out audiences April 20-23.

ETBU Department of Theatre Arts Presents Iphigenia 2.0 by Charles Mee, April 16-19

MARSHALL, Texas (4/14/15) - The Department of Theatre Arts at East Texas Baptist University proudly presents their spring production - Iphigenia 2.0 by Charles Mee. Performances will be in the Black Box Theatre of the Jenna Guest Music Building.  Dates are April 16 at 7:30 p.m., April 17 at 8:00 p.m., April 18 at 7:30 p.m., and April 19 at 2:30 p.m.

ETBU Department of Communication Studies to join Departments of Music and Theatre Arts

MARSHALL, Texas (3/20/15) - East Texas Baptist University announces a departmental restructuring that will move the Department of Communication Studies to the School of Fine Arts.  The Department will join the Departments of Music and Theatre Arts in a move that will facilitate many opportunities for students of all three disciplines. The change will begin with the 2015-2016 academic year.

ETBU Department of Theatre Arts Presents Almost Maine, Feb. 12-15

MARSHALL, Texas (1/27/15) - The Department of Theatre Arts at East Texas Baptist University proudly presents the Discovery Series production of Almost, Maine by John Cariani, directed by senior Samantha Pettigrew.  Performances will be in the Black Box Theatre of the Jenna Guest Music Building February 12-14 at 7:30 p.m. and February 15 at 2:30 p.m.  Tickets are $5.00 general admission or free with an ETBU ID.

East Texas Baptist University to Host Congreso Experience February 17

East Texas Baptist University will host a Congreso Experience on Saturday, February 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This event, held in partnership with Texas Baptists (BGCT), is designed for Hispanic students in 6th grade and above to explore the Christ-centered college experience available at ETBU. Congreso provides students with a unique opportunity to embrace a college education and pursue the call of God in their lives.
