Bass Fishing Coming to ETBU; Signs with Skeeter Boats

MARSHALL, Texas (3/10/16) – Setting their lures to become the best collegiate program in the United States for collegiate bass fishing, East Texas Baptist University will enter the bass fishing world starting a new program for 2016-17 and will be sponsored by Skeeter Boats. This club sport will allow anglers to fish on the best lakes in East Texas and the United States on the best boats in the nation.

ETBU Announces 8:00 a.m. & 9:00 a.m. Classes Canceled, Delay Opening Until 10:00 a.m.

MARSHALL, Texas (3/9/16) - Due to the continued flooding and rising waters on roadways in the city of Marshall and Harrison County, East Texas Baptist University will delay opening until 10:00 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 9, 2016. 

All 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. classes are canceled due to the severe weather and flooded roadway conditions in the area. 

All University operations will resume at 10:00 a.m. along with regular scheduled activities.

Tiger Athletics: Softball Sweeps HPU, Baseball Wins Series with McMurry & Track & Field at UT-Tyler Meet

SOFTBALL: BROWNWOOD, Texas (3/5/16) – Doubling in the game winning run in the top of the seventh inning, Linzie Lewis put the East Texas Baptist University softball team on top, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at Lady Jacket Field over Howard Payne University. The victory wraps up a three-game series sweep for ETBU, which goes to 10-3 overall and 8-1 against American Southwest Conference competition.

ETBU Holds UIL Math and Science Practice Meet

MARSHALL, Texas (3/04/16) – The Department of Mathematics at East Texas Baptist University hosted a UIL Math and Science practice meet on Saturday, February, 27, 2016. High school students competed in the areas of Number Sense, Calculator, Math, and Science. Eighty students from nine area high schools participated in the competition. 

“We appreciate the opportunity to host this practice meet and enjoyed having the best and brightest area high school students on our campus” said Dr. Marty Warren, ETBU Professor of Mathematics and coordinator for the practice meet.
