ETBU Crowns Miss Morgan Garrett as Miss ETBU 2015

MARSHALL, Texas (3/30/15) - East Texas Baptist University held its 59th Miss ETBU Pageant crowning junior all-level kinesiology major Morgan Garrett of Coushatta, La., as Miss ETBU 2015. Miss Garrett competed against nine other contestants in the pageant held Saturday evening, March 28, 2015, in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center.

"ETBU Cares" Day Making A Difference in the Community

MARSHALL, Texas (4/02/15) - Students of East Texas Baptist University sacrificed personal time on a Saturday morning, March 28, to show Marshall that "ETBU Cares."  This is a yearly event that provides an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to serve the Marshall community.   

"The Great Commission Center sponsors "ETBU Cares" Day," said Dr. Lisa Seeley ETBU Great Commission Director. "Over 100 ETBU students served the Marshall community at this year's event in six different locations with seven projects to help with."

ETBU Closed on Good Friday, April 3rd

MARSHALL, Texas (4/02/15) - East Texas Baptist University will be closed on Friday, April 3rd , in observance of Good Friday. Offices will reopen and classes will resume on Monday, April 6th.

But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay." -Matthew 28:6-7 (NKJ)

Glenn Bickerdike Awarded the Sam B. Hall, Jr. Civic Service Award

MARSHALL, Texas  (3/25/15) -  Local BancorpSouth President and former East Texas Baptist University Board of Trustee member Glenn Bickerdike received the 2015 Sam B. Hall, Jr. Civic Service Award Monday evening during the Sam B. Hall, Jr. Lecture Series Banquet. The 20th annual event was held in the Phillips Great Room of the Bennett Student Commons and commemorates the late U.S. Representative and federal judge Sam B. Hall, Jr., who was a Marshall native and an alumnus of the College of Marshall, which is now ETBU.
