ETBU increases green space on campus as part of Arbor Day Celebration

East Texas Baptist University students celebrated Arbor Day with the planting of three dogwood trees in the Grove area of ETBU's campus on April 28, the 145th celebration of Arbor Day.
 
Founded in 1972, the Arbor Day Foundation has grown to become the largest nonprofit membership organization dedicated to planting trees, with more than one million members, supporters, and value partners. During the last 44 years, more than 25 million Arbor Day Foundation trees have been planted in neighborhoods, communities, cities and forests throughout the world.

ETBU Theatre ends season with a show ‘stop’ping performance

East Texas Baptist University's Theatre Department, led by student director, junior Laramie Smith, told the story of strangers stranded at a small roadside diner outside of Kansas City, Missouri during a winter blizzard with their production of Bus Stop, a play by William Inge. The ensemble performed for four sold-out audiences April 20-23.

ETBU and Elysian Fields High School team-up to create "Yellow Jacket University"
East Texas Baptist University and Elysian Fields Independent School District announced the formation of "Yellow Jacket University" at a press conference held April 20, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Elysian Fields ISD's Administration Building. 
Starting in Fall 2017, ETBU will offer dual credit college courses to Elysian Fields High School students. The courses will be available on the University campus, in Elysian Fields High School classrooms, and online.
