ETBU Volleyball serves in Eastern Europe through TAME

The East Texas Baptist University Volleyball Team spent Spring Break in Eastern Europe as a part of the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME) program. The group of 16, led by Vice President for Athletics Ryan Erwin and his wife, Kristy, along with Head Volleyball Coach Keely Peterson, partnered with two ETBU alumni currently serving overseas. Through TAME, the Tigers were enabled to engage in outreach by hosting volleyball clinics, teaching English, and competing with local club teams.

ETBU BSM participates in Beach Reach during Spring Break

East Texas Baptist University sent 11 Baptist Student Ministry student leaders to South Padre Island, Texas on Friday, March 9 through Friday, March 16 as a part of Beach Reach. According to the South Padre Island Chamber of Commerce, more than 35,000 spring breakers visited the beach from all over the country. Texas Baptists (BGCT) reported over 750 college students traveled to provide free food and transportation to these beach visitors.

Spiritual Renewal

ETBU celebrates Spiritual Renewal Week

East Texas Baptist University hosted a series of events for Spiritual Renewal Week on Monday, February 26 through Wednesday, February 28. The week included chapel services, a Men's Event, Women's Night of Worship, and a Concert of Prayer. Guest Speaker Mike Satterfield is the founder of Field of Grace Ministries and currently serves as the Teaching Pastor at Fielder Church in Arlington.

ETBU women are headed to the Sweet 16

After a tightly fought first quarter, the East Texas Baptist women's basketball suddenly caught fire for the rest of the game as they would upset the University of Texas Dallas Comets for the second time in two weeks winning 64-51 in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Tigers will continue to dance as they will advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history and are now 24-6 on the year.
