Lady Tigers & Tigers Move to 2-0

BASKETBALL (W): SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (11/17/15) - A gritty effort the East Texas Baptist University women's basketball team led to a 70-62 win over the Centenary College in the first road game of the season. Post players Taylee Alexander and Lauren Lee combined for 35 of ETBU's 70 points to lead the team.

WEEKEND TIGER ATHLETICS: ETBU Ends Season as ASC Tri-Champions

FOOTBALL: BELTON, Texas (11/14/15) - Finishing up the 2015 regular season with seven wins, the #23 East Texas Baptist University football team didn't have enough offensive fire power to keep up with #13 Mary Hardin-Baylor (9-1/4-1) as they received their first American Southwest Conference loss of the year, 67-20. ETBU finishes ASC play as tri-champions with UMHB and Hardin-Simmons University and is their second overall championship in the history of the program.

ETBU Hosts Annual Debate Tournament

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (11/14/15) - East Texas Baptist University was a hive of activity on Friday as the fourth annual Tiger Invitational Debate Tournament kicked off.

ETBU Debate Coach Cole Franklin said about 96 students from 14 institutions and five states were on campus Friday preparing for the beginning of the tournament that will run through tonight.

ETBU sophomore Tele'ma Blackman was nervous as she prepared with her team Friday but said she thrives off of the anxiety.

ETBU in Marshall Takes Burdens to the Cross with New On-campus Prayer Ministry

MARSHALL NEWS MESSENGER (11/7/15) - East Texas Baptist University is taking everything to the foot of the Cross with its new on-campus intercessory prayer ministry.

"God answers prayer. When I first became president, I challenged the faculty, staff and trustees to join together in prayer," ETBU President Blair Blackburn said. "I invited them to begin praying for 40 days and we as a university family read Mark Batterson's book 'Draw the Circle, The 40 Day Prayer Challenge.'" 

Blackburn said the staff took the 40-day prayer journey together, running June 1 to July 10.
