ETBU crowns senior Sarah Resendez as Miss ETBU 2023

East Texas Baptist University senior humanities major Sarah Resendez, from Shreveport, Louisiana, was crowned the 67th Miss ETBU on Saturday, September 16, in Baker Chapel at the Rogers Spiritual Life Center on the ETBU campus. The Miss ETBU Pageant, sponsored by ETBU’s Student Government Association, is a long-standing tradition that showcases the exceptional qualities of female students and their commitment to Christian values, poise, and scholarship.

Haleigh Akin crowned as Miss ETBU 2022

Haleigh Akin, a senior elementary education major from Tyler, Texas, was crowned as the 66th Miss ETBU on Saturday, September 24. Akin, who embodies the spirit of what it means to be a Christian servant leader on campus and in the community, was selected from 11 contestants during the annual pageant sponsored by ETBU’s Student Government Association.

Kathryn Pedroza crowned as Miss ETBU 2021

Kathryn Pedroza, a junior organizational communication major from Mansfield, Texas, was crowned as the 65th Miss ETBU on Monday, April 26. Pedroza, who embodies the spirit of what it means to be a Christian servant leader on campus and in the community, was selected from nine contestants during the annual pageant sponsored by ETBU’s Student Government Association. Sophomore English education major Leah Akridge was selected as first runner-up, and senior music education major Anissa Mott was selected as second runner-up.

ETBU junior Ronni Ward crowned as Miss ETBU 2019

Junior Speech Communication major Ronni Ward of Logansport, Louisiana was crowned as the 63rd Miss ETBU on Saturday, March 30. Actively involved in the ETBU community as a member of the Student Government Association (SGA), Political Awareness Society, and Tiger Cheer, Ward was selected from among 12 contestants at the annual scholarship pageant sponsored by ETBU’s SGA. As Miss ETBU, she receives a generous academic scholarship as well as the opportunity to represent the University throughout the community and region during her reign.
