As a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Counseling Program, you have a unique opportunity to gain diverse, practical clinical training in a "hands on" manner - both through supervised field experiences in the community and at ETBU's clinic on campus.
On the campus of ETBU, graduate students training in counseling are able to gain supervised experience providing a full array of counseling services to members of the community through the recently established community center. For graduate students, the center provides opportunities for professional development that are interspersed throughout the counseling curriculum and in formal practicum experiences required for licensure. For the community, the center provides low-cost services in a competent and caring manner.
Here at ETBU, in addition to opportunities at the community center for supervised training as a counselor, the graduate program attempts to maintain agreements with local providers and mental health organizations for the purpose of placement of graduate students into formal field experiences for practica required for licensure. For more information on these opportunities, feel free to contact our Clinical Training Coordinator, Dr. Tom Haygood, LPC-S, LMFT, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (903)923-2096.
