Murphy Science Building


Opened in 1991, the Murphy Science building houses the Department of Biology and Chemistry. Within the building are faculty offices, three lecture rooms, four biology laboratories, three chemistry laboratories, and one physics laboratory. The biology laboratories include a general biology laboratory, anatomy & physiology laboratory, microbiology/genetics laboratory, and ecology laboratory. Each lecgture room is equipped with a computer and projector system. The general biology laboratory and the anatomy & physiology laboratory have microscope camera systems for the projection of microscope slides and dissections. The department also houses an animal collection and a botanical collection from east Texas. The ecology lab contains extensive equipment for terrestrial and aquatic ecology research.
