       So far we have raised $1,800 toward our goal of $5,000. We will pick up the envelopes from the Departments/Buildings tomorrow afternoon.

The most pressing prayer needs for Nathan and Jessica are around treatment. Both of them are dealing with the physical and mental wear and tear of chemo. Pray also for the effectiveness of treatment.

Easter is close, but I'm not. We are currently enjoying Southwest Missouri and will be until 27 April. Therefore, the caped crusader will NOT be around for Easter.        May 13, 2014 is the date for our 5th annual Tiger Football Golf Tournament. Attached, you should find a flier with pertinent information, as well as an entry form and way you can assist. Your participation in the tournament as a player, hole sponsor or contributor will help make this tournament a success. All funds raised will go to enhance our program. Come be a part of a great day, play golf, eat and have a chance to win some amazing door prizes!

ETBU SYMPHONIC BAND TO PRESENT "WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS" CONCERT, APRIL 25
 
   MARSHALL, Texas (4/17/14) - The East Texas Baptist University Symphonic Band, under the direction of Mark Crim, will present a concert :With a Little Help From Our Friends," on Friday, April 25th, at 7:30 p.m. in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center. The band will be joined by the Guitar Ensemble and the Elysian Fields High School Band.

ETBU DEBATE FINISHES SEASON RANKED SEVENTH IN NATION
 
   MARSHALL, Texas (4/16/14) - The East Texas Baptist University debate team competed in the International Public Debate Association National Championship Tournament April 10-13 at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Ark. Over 250 competitors from 33 universities from across the country competed in the three-day event.

   MARSHALL, Texas (4/16/14) - The East Texas Baptist University School of Education handed out year-end student awards on Saturday, April 12, 2014, for the 2013-2014 academic year. The awards reception was held in the Woods Great Room of the Ornelas Student Center. Student projects were displayed in the Cornish Great Room.

   MARSHALL, Texas (4/11/14) - East Texas Baptist University's oldest, most honored tradition returned for its 67th year on Friday, April 11, 2014, naming the 2013-2014 Senior Girl Call-Out. The ceremony was held on a gorgeous East Texas afternoon on the front lawn of Marshall Hall.

BLANKENSHIP NAMED ASC ATHLETE OF WEEK FOR SECOND TIME
 
   TRACK & FIELD: RICHARDSON, Texas (4/17/14) - Competing in only his second meet of the season, Cody Blankenship was named ASC track & field athlete of the week for the second time. Blankenship won the high jump at the Hardin-Simmons Invitational for his second win of the year in that event.

   BASEBALL: RICHARSON, Texas (4/15/14) - Putting on a hitting clinic in game one of the series against Sul Ross State University, Phillip Windham has been named the American Southwest Conference's "Hitter of the Week." Windham batted .500 in the series with five RBI and three home runs.

Thursday and Friday, they take on Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday night and continuing with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday.

   SOFTBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (4/15/14) - Extending their winning streak to twelve straight games, including five straight shutouts, #10 East Texas Baptist University looks to lock up the number two seed in the American Southwest Conference Tournament this weekend at Louisiana College. Due to Easter being on Sunday, ETBU will play the first game of the series on Thursday night at 6 p.m. with a doubleheader to end the series on Friday beginning at noon.

#10 ETBU RUNS SHUTOUT STREAK TO 5; SWEEPS OZARKS 13-0, 9-0
 
   SOFTBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (4/12/14) - Pitching back-to-back no hitters, including a perfect game, #10 East Texas Baptist University completed a sweep of University of the Ozarks 13-0 (five innings) and 9-0 (five innings), which ran their winning streak to 12 in a row. ETBU did not allow a run all weekend and have not allowed a run in their last five games.

   BASEBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (4/12/14) - Scoring 19 combined runs in a doubleheader sweep, East Texas Baptist University extended their winning streak to six games, beating Sul Ross St. 8-4 and 11-1 (8 innings). Zack Tampke and Matt Lefler picked up the wins for ETBU and the offense hit four more home runs.

   TENNIS (M): MARSHALL, Texas (4/12/14) - Ending the year at home, the East Texas Baptist University men?s tennis team fell to the University of the Ozarks, 8-1. ETBU finishes the season at 4-11 and 3-7 in the American Southwest Conference. The four wins are a program best in the third year of the new program.

   TENNIS (W): MARSHALL, Texas (4/12/14) - Going out in style were three seniors in Kayla Franklin, Kali Kipp, and Hannah Word as they helped the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team finish the year with a 5-4 win over the University of the Ozarks. The victory was the fourth of the year which is a program best and they finish with a 3-7 record in the American Southwest Conference just missing the tournament.

   TRACK & FIELD: ABILENE, Texas (4/12/14) - Competing at the place where the 2014 American Southwest Conference championship meet will be held, East Texas Baptist University participated in the Hardin-Simmons University track & field meet. ETBU had three athletes (two male, one female) place at the meet.

OFFENSIVE OUTBURST LEADS ETBU PAST SUL ROSS ST. 11-0
 
   BASEBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (4/11/14) - An offensive outburst happened at Woods Field on Friday night, led by Phil Windham as East Texas Baptist University (11-18/ 8-14 ASC) won their fourth straight game 11-0 over Sul Ross St (15-14/11-11 ASC). Windham was three-for-three on the night with three home runs, four RBI's, four runs scored and two walks.

PARKER K'S 10, #10 ETBU SHUTS OUT OZARKS 8-0
 
   SOFTBALL: MARSHALL, Texas (4/11/14) - A dominant performance in the circle and the third walk-off home run of the season led #10 East Texas Baptist University to an 8-0 win over University of the Ozarks. Shelby Parker struck out 10 batters of the 14 she faced and Alexis Padilla hit her first home run at ETBU to send everyone home in the fifth.
