  • What is my email address and username?
    For all students:
    Email Address: fistname_lastname@etbu.edu (example: john_doe@etbu.edu)
    Username: email address without the @etbu.edu (example: john_doe).
  • Will I still receive email from my old email address?
    For all students: Your New Tigermail email accounts will still receive email from your old email address. Your old email address will be forwarded to your new account.
  • How long will I still have access to my old TigerMail email box?
    The Old TigerMail server will be available until May 31, 2013 to access and forward old emails and contacts to the new live accounts. New incoming emails will no longer be stored in your Old TigerMail after tigermail accounts are created. Old TigerMail contacts can be exported and then imported into your New Tigermail account using the export option in Old TigerMail and the import option in New Tigermail.
  • How do I forward my New Tigermail email to another email address?
    Log into your New Tigermail account.
    In the upper right-hand side of the screen click "Options".
    Then click "See All Options".
    On the right-hand side under "Shortcuts to other things you can do" click "Forward your e-mail".
    Near the bottom of the screen enter the email address you would like to forward your Live@EDU mail to and click save.
  • How do I access my New Tigermail account from the internet?
    You can login to your mail from a web browser at http://outlook.com using your Windows LiveID (your full email address).
    Your password is the same as your existing ETBU password.
  • How do I set up New Tigermail on my mobile device?
    Use this setup wizard for help in setting up your mobile phone or device to access your New Tigermail account.(Please select the 'Set Up Microsoft Exchange E-Mail' option)
  • How do I setup my home computer to access my New Tigermail?
    Use this Email Setup Wizard to set up email on your home computer.

    Here are the POP/IMAP/SMTP settings for New Tigermail.
    Use the following settings for configuring an IMAP or POP mail client to connect to Live@edu. (use either POP or IMAP. IMAP recommended)

    External POP setting:
    Server name: pod51010.outlook.com
    Port: 995
    Encryption method: SSL External
    IMAP setting: (incoming mail server)
    Server name: pod51010.outlook.com
    Port: 993 Encryption method: SSL

  • What is the Tigermail System?
    Tigermail provides cloud-based, enterprise-class communication and collaboration services, such as exchange email, calendaring, contacts, online Office Apps (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote), and online document storage.
  • What is my Live@edu ID?
    Your Live@edu ID is your username@etbu.edu. This is your username for loging into the Tigermail System, the full email address is required to log in.
  • I can't login, what can I do?
    Make sure you are using the correct username which is your full ETBU email address (usersname@etbu.edu).
    Make sure you reset your ETBU password to sync your new Tigermail password with your ETBU password. To do that, just visit the ETBU ChangeMyPassword page and enter the information requested. This only needs to be done once to set up the initial sync between your ETBU password and your New Tigermail password.
    If none of the above helps you will need to contact IT at ext 2021.
  • What is my New Tigermail password?
    Your New Tigermail password is your current ETBU password.
  • How do I change my Tigermail password?
    You can change this password at anytime using the Change My Password option on the ETBU Homepage located under the Quick Links tab.
  • What is the message's maximum size (including attachments)?

  • Can I still use Old TigerMail to get my email?
    After transitioning to the Tigermail system, all new email messages will go to your New Tigermail inbox. You will not be able to get new email messages to your Old TigerMail inbox. Any mail stored in the previous system should be forwarded, saved, or deleted as soon as possible.
  • Can I keep my email and other Live (New Tigermail) services when I graduate?
    Yes. The services provided by Live@edu(New Tigermail) including your email and SkyDrive are yours to keep for life.
  • Is my mail backed up?
    Traditional backups are not performed on cloud-based mailboxes. The Microsoft datacenter uses database availability groups (DAGs) to provide high availability and redundancy for mailboxes. Four copies of each mailbox exist in the datacenter, with multiple online copies of the data. If a user inadvertently deletes items from their mailbox, they can use Outlook Web App > Deleted Items > Recover Deleted Items to recover deleted items.
  • What if I accidentally delete an email, can I get it back?
    Items that you delete go into the Deleted Items folder where they can be recovered if necessary. Items will stay in the Deleted Items folder until you manually clean them out. Once emptied from the Deleted Items folder you can recover them for up to a month, after which the item is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. If a user inadvertently deletes items from their mailbox, they can use Outlook Web App > Deleted Items > Recover Deleted Items to recover deleted items
  • How do I search for a student's new email address?
    All ETBU email addresses are located in your outlook address book. To search for an email address, click the box that says "To..." in the new message box. This will bring up your contacts in a pop up. Select the "Global Address List from the drop-down menu. Search for the student's name and double click the name in the results. Your will see the name added to the "To ->" field at the bottom of the window. Once you have found all the names you are looking for, select "ok" and type your message.
