Accent on Alumni:  Ricky Tompkins '95


Dr. Ricky Tompkins has been appointed Vice President for Learning at NorthWest Arkansas Community College.  As VP for Learning, Tompkins oversees Communication and Arts, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Science and Mathematics, Library Resources, and the College's High School Relations Department and the Honors Program.  Additional reporting Offices include Grants, Research, Planning, Effectiveness, and Diversity.

James Andrew Bryant (95), received his Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University in August of 2013.

Accent on Alumni:  Benjamin L. Stewart (01)


Benjamin L. Stewart (01) has joined the firm of Baily Brauer PLLC as Counsel.  Bailey Brauer PLLC is a complex commercial litigation and appellate boutique firm in Dallas.  Benjamin represents corporate clients and individuals in complex commercial and bankruptcy litigation matters.  He has successfully litigated cases in federal courts in Texas, Colorado, and Delaware and in state courts throughout Texas.  Benjamin has also assisted companies with internal and government investigations, including responding to civil investigative demands from U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U. S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Betty Woods Steele passed away on June 10, 2013.

Winters.jpgCameron Christy (12) and Alan Winters were married March 9, 2013.  Alan is welder and Cameron will receive her Master of Science in Human Resource Development from UT Tyler in May of 2014.

Doug Falknor (88) is the pastor at First Baptist Church, Fayetteville, AR, and was recently elected First Vice President of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention.  He will serve in this capacity until October 2014.

Wedding Bells:  Mallory Harrell (11) & Tyler Moore (10)


Harrell-Moore216.jpgMallory Anne Harrell (11) and Tyler Lane Moore (10) were married on July 6, 2013.  Mallory is the Elementary Director at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and Tyler is a masters student at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  Mallory and Tyler met in Dr. Dane Fowlkes' "Ministry Formations" class at ETBU and currently reside in Houston, TX.

Roy D. Hall (82) has been with Hospice in the Pines as a chaplain for the last three years and also supply preaches in the area.

Kevin Kendrick (88) was honored on September 29, 2013, for his 25 years as Minister of Music at Mims Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas.  Kevin can be reached at kkendrick@mimsbaptist.org.

Accent on Alumni:  Dr. Nathan Lorick (03)


Dr. Nathan Lorick (03) has published his first book, Dying to Grow.  Nathan serves as the Director of Evangelism for the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention and a trustee for the International Mission Board of the SBC.  He and his wife, Jenna (03), have been married for ten years and have three sons and one daughter.  Dying to Grow is available at LifeWay Christian Stores or from Life Sentence Publishing.  It is also available as a Kindle ebook at Amazon

Accent on Alumni:  Dale Suel (79)


Dale Suel (79) was elected President of the Baptist Convention of New York at their annual meeting.  Earlier in September he was elected Chairman of the BCNY Executive Board and will hold these two positions.  Dale is the pastor of the Amherst Baptist Church in Amherst, NY.

Ron Allison (73) passed away on November 14, 2012.

Dr. David Massey, Sr., former trustee of ETBU, passed away on September 16, 2013.  His family requested that memorial contributions be made to the Becky Massey Scholarship Fund at ETBU.

Dr. Welby C. Edwards, former trustee of ETBU passed away on September 11, 2013.  His family requested that memorials be made to the Edwards Endowed Nursing Scholarship at ETBU.

Dr. Helen Chapman Williamson (43), former trustee of ETBU passed away on July 4, 2013.

Wedding Bells:  Kelli Kincade (09) & Victor L. Gaines, Jr.


Kelli_and_Victor.jpgKelli Kincade (09) tied the knot on July 20, 2013, to Victor L. Gaines, Jr.  Kelli and Victor were middle school friends that reconnected via Facebook after college.  They now live in Missouri City, Texas, with the hopes of starting a family soon.

Aaron_Herrington.jpgAaron Herrington (08) and Carly Bales, a Lamar graduate, were married on June 29, 2013.  Aaron received his Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University in June and he currently serves as head offensive line coach at Buna High School.  Aaron s a third generation graduate of ETBU.

Avery_Riley.jpgJonathan (07) and Amanda Riley Oglesby (05) welcomed a precious baby girl, Avery Joy, to their family on April 22, 2013.  Avery weighed 5 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 17 1/2 inches long.  They hope she is a future tiger in the making!  (We do, too!)
