How to Get Started
Department of Nursing – Getting Started
ETBU’s Professional Nursing Program offers a unique experience that will change your life. With a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, you can engage in career goals that will challenge you and impact others on a daily basis. After you complete all coursework, you will be ready to take the national registered nurse (RN) licensure test in the state of your choice.
Our faculty to student ratio is small, enabling faculty to give you individual attention in a Christian learning environment. Our program is considered an upper division program in which the first 60 hours of pre-requisite courses are completed before you begin your application process for the Professional Nurse program in early Spring. The final two years of study consists of an additional 60 hours of nursing-specific courses, most of which have clinical practicums with our community partners. If you are a transfer student, inquire about which of the courses you have already completed will match our pre-requisites and you can transfer in those credits. Please see the plan of study for both pre-nursing and professional nursing.
How to get started:
We encourage you to visit our campus. Please call or email us (903-923-2210 or nursing@etbu.edu) or call ETBU Admissions (903-923-2000) to set up an appointment. ETBU Admissions will help you with completing the application process. During your visit, you can visit financial aid and any other office that you would like. When you make an appointment with the Professional Nursing program, we will set up an appointment with our Enrollment and Clinical Excellence Specialist, who is knowledgeable about the professional nursing program as well as how to successfully engage pre-nursing courses.
If you desire to transfer to ETBU Nursing, please send unofficial transcript to ETBU Nursing by fax (903) 938-9225 or email nursing@etbu.edu. Please include your name, cell phone and email on all correspondence so that we are able to correspond with you about your plans to attend ETBU Nursing. Transferring course credits often requires a review of a course description and syllabus to ensure that there is a match for our pre-requisites, so please have these available. If you have further questions, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you with your plans to apply to ETBU Nursing.
