Theatre Arts Majors: Theatre scholarships are available to theatre arts majors only. These scholarships are highly competitive and require a formal audition process. In order to receive a theatre arts scholarship, students must meet all the requirements for admission to the University. These scholarships are awarded for eight consecutive semesters assuming students meet the following criteria:
To receive and retain the Theatre Arts scholarship, the recipient must:
A. declare one of the two Theatre Arts majors as your official University major
(Theatre Arts Education-BSE with All-Level Teacher Certification or Theatre Arts-BA).
You may declare your major either when you apply for admission to the University or
when you register for your first semester of classes. Note: You may change your
major from either of these two majors to any other of the two majors without
scholarship penalty.
B. earn a grade point average of 3.0 or above in your major in each semester of study,
C. register for all the Theatre Arts classes leading towards the declared major as
indicated in the semester by semester course guide.
D. maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or above for all university study.
E. must audition and participate in all departmental productions each semester.
F. must be punctual for all classes, rehearsals and performances.
G. agrees to attend all meetings scheduled by the department faculty.
H. understands that the scholarship amount may be adjusted if the student becomes ineligible
to participate due to disciplinary action.
