The Accelerated Teacher Preparation Program (ACTP) is designed for individuals who have at least a bachelor's degree in a field other than education and have a desire to enter the teaching field. The program offers the possibility of becoming a certified secondary school teacher within one year or less.
Persons entering this program will be part of an experience that provides the following:
- four preparatory courses, all offered during the same semester, and with flexible time schedules;
- few, if any, subject-matter courses, depending on the student's current degree and abilities;
- a semester-long, tailored student teaching experience; and
- assistance with job placement.
