Is it possible to visit the campus and sit in on a Business class?
Yes, and we welcome prospective students to come visit the campus, meet faculty, and meet students.
We have scheduled times of Tiger Days and Shadow Days, but you are welcome to schedule a visit at your convenience.
What is the average size of the classes?
Our classes average 20-25 students with some having more students.
What opportunities are there to study in other countries?
Each May, following the Spring semester, Business faculty lead students on Business International Travel Study trips.
These trips rotate between China, Europe, and Latin America.
Are Student Internships available to Business Students?
Student Internships are strongly encouraged.
These may be arranged in the Marshall, TX area, your hometown, or any other area of your choice.
For the most part, these are paid internships.
Are there any Student Organizations in the School of Business?
We have two fine student-led business organizations; the Phi Beta Lambda and the AMA (American Marketing Association).
Students are encouraged to get this additional experience of leadership and practical business experience.
Do ETBU students get involved in competitions with other universities?
Within the student-led business organizations, there are competitions ranging from regional to national competition.
Both the Phi Beta Lambda and the American Marketing Association have represented ETBU in these competitions.
Do Business Students take Field Trips to businesses?
Several of the classes regularly take field trips to local businesses to see particular facets of business in action.
Do Guest Speakers from the Business World ever come speak in the classes?
Guest business speakers from the local commmunities regulary come to the classes and talk about their particular area of business. Usually they come to address a current topic that they can relate to the students and the material being taught in the classes. It is very common for ETBU business alumni to return to campus and speak to current students about their developing careers.
Are there opportunities to work on and off campus?
There are many opportunities for ETBU students to work in the Marshall and Longview area.
Our students have a fine reputation in the area of behavior and ethics which is appreciatee by local businesses.
Is there any opportunity for graduate study at ETBU?
The Fred Hale School of Business now offers the Masters of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Leadership
This is open to business students immediately upon graduation and is completed within one year of study.
