Guest Artist Piano Recital at ETBU on September 13th
MARSHALL, Texas (9/09/13) – The School of Fine Arts at East Texas Baptist University will present pianist Dr. Richard Fountain in a guest artist recital on Friday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in the Mabee Recital Hall located inside the Jenna Guest Music Building.
Dr. Fountain enjoys a uniquely enriching career as a teacher, adjudicator, solo performer, choral, vocal and chamber collaborator, and orchestral keyboardist. Dr. Fountain is Assistant Professor of Collaborative Piano at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview. He teaches applied piano, accompanying, piano literature and piano pedagogy. He collaborates with choral ensembles, opera workshops and a wide array of student and faculty soloists.
Dr. Fountain holds both D.M.A. and M.M. degrees in piano performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he studied under Paul Barnes. Dr. Fountain also holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Taylor University, where he studied under Leon Harshenin. He has been a featured soloist with the Marion Philharmonic Orchestra, the UNL Symphony Orchestra and Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra, and the Plainview Symphony Orchestra.
