TRACK & FIELD: MARSHALL, Texas (7/15/13) – East Texas Baptist University has put into motion the addition of NCAA Division III men’s and women’s outdoor track and field. ETBU will compete in these two sports this coming year on an individual basis.
Individuals may try out for the team by notifying the Director of Athletics Kent Reeves if they have an interest and skill set to compete in the American Southwest Conference.
After the individual notifies the director of athletics of their interest in a specific event(s) the individual will be given a try-out during the fall or spring semester to see if they have the times, heights, or distances to be a top five (5) finisher at the American Southwest Conference Championship meet. Before individuals will be allowed to compete for ETBU they must complete all medical and athletic paperwork and have been certified by ETBU for NCAA competition by the Athletic Department and Registrar’s Office.
The individuals who qualify (top five (5) finisher) will be allowed to attend selected meets.
