ETBU Moves into NFCA Top 10
SOFTBALL: LOUISVILLE, Ky. (3/27/13) – Making moves in NCAA Division III softball, East Texas Baptist University has moved up three spots in the latest NFCA NCAA Division III national poll. ETBU moves from 11th to eighth with 143 votes.
This is the first time that ETBU has been ranked in the top 10 since May 11, 2011 when they were #3 in the nation. ETBU has now been in the top 25 poll for five straight weeks moving all the way up from 25th in the first weekly poll.
Other opponents that ETBU has faced in this week’s poll are #4 Texas-Tyler, #11 Piedmont, #12 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, and #12 St. Thomas (MN) with Central College receiving votes.
ETBU was ranked twice in 2012 as high as 23rd and was in all 14 national polls in 2011 reaching as high as third in the nation.

Liles Named ASC East "Hitter of the Week"
SOFTBALL: RICHARDSON, Texas (3/27/13) – Gaining East Texas Baptist University’s second American Southwest Conference Hitter of the Week award this year is Lacy Liles. Liles had a stellar week in four games against #3 Texas-Tyler and LeTourneau University.
She batted .400 on the week (4-for-10) with four RBI, a double, a triple, and a home run. Providing a 1.000 slugging percentage, she was a key hitter in the 3-2 win over #3 Texas-Tyler with two of the three runs scored in the game. She had a RBI in the first inning to make it 1-0 and then hit a solo shot in the fourth inning to tie the game at two.
This is the second award after Tawny Hank was named co-hitter of the week on March 3rd.
