Piano In Chamber Ensemble Concert at ETBU January 13th
MARSHALL, Texas (1/08/13) - The East Texas Baptist School of Fine Arts will present a concert featuring the piano in chamber ensemble on Sunday, January 13th, at 2:30 p.m. in Mabee Recital Hall of the Jenna Guest Music Building. Admission is free to the community.
ETBU Professor of Music Dr. Randall Sulton and piano major Ann Flanagan of Seabrook, will perform piano trios of Brahms and Mendelssohn with violinist Russell Lewis of Longview and cellist Ruth Drummond of Shreveport. ETBU faculty members Dr. Thomas R. Webster (clarinet), Dr. Douglas Lockard (trumpet), and Anthony Robinson (percussion) will join Dr. Sulton in Paul Bowles’s Music for a Farce.
The program will also feature ETBU piano majors Clarke Tanner of Robeline, La., and Nichole Wray of Port Orchard, Wash., in duet works by Brahms, as well as biology majors Esther Jeong of Round Rock, and Emily Bach of Marshall, in a performance of Milhaud’s Brazileira for two pianos. To end the program, Miss Flanagan will be joined by piano major Grace Harper of Atlanta, to perform Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite. This work will also feature ETBU percussion students Chris Brown of Bonham and Rhett Pilcher of White Oak.
