Quietness in the chaos

Kim Gilstrap

As I lay in bed Thursday night after a hectic week
I was starting to drift off to
sleep as I began praying for
things as I do most nights! I
prayed that God and I could
reconnect! It’s not that I felt
like I was distant from God or
did I feel like he wasn’t there,
but that I seemed to have forgotten to include Him in the
rest of my week!
How silly to think that
the King of the entire Universe could love a sinning
mess like me! In life, particularly the college life, we are
so very busy with this that
and the other that we keep
trying our best to just get by!
We starve ourselves of sleep,
eat way-unhealthy things and
even occasionally skip class!
We all know we’ve done it
at some point. We try to fill
our schedules with so much
that when asked we can say,
“Sorry I’m busy”! With busy
schedules like ours we often
can seem to forget where we
started.
We are His workmanship (Ephesians 2:10). He is
most worthy of our Worship.
So maybe we should not just
leave Him at the start of our
week.
Amidstthe crazy ebb and
flow of daily life, where have
you left God? Is He somewhere last semester? Is He
still at church on Sunday or
is He walking beside you as
your companion and guide?
It may be difficult to answer
this question, but hopefully it
challenges you.
Maybe today could be
the day where you call on Jesus and reconnect and invite
Him to lead your days and be
your strength when you are
weak! I know when I confess
before The Lord that I’ve left
Him at my Monday he is still
right there! What a blessing!
Be blessed today, friend.
He is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins and
cleanse us from all unrighteousness! (1 John 1:9)
