For years the west side of the main part of the library held a computer lab.  When computers were dispersed around the library the next decision was to take down the old control room and office area which were no longer in use.  This photogallery shows what the area looked like as a computer lab, the "deconstruction" of the control room and office, the laying of carpet (including slides of the staff of physical facilities moving the bookstacks with a device that jacks up the shelves and moves them without moving the books off), and finally some photos of students enjoying the newly furnished area on the first day of class, Fall semester of 2008.
