Advising Information

East Texas Baptist University has a faculty-based advising program that is coordinated by the Office of Academic Success and Graduate Services. Every student is assigned a faculty advisor in their major field of study. If you change your major, you will be assigned a new advisor in that department.

Your advisor will work with you individually to help you understand the academic requirements of your major and minor, counsel you on career opportunilties available with your selected major and advise you on any other problems or questions you may have. Assistance in registering for the classes needed to graduate on time is something you will not have to do alone. You are strongly encouraged to take full advantage of all the services provided. Your advisor can be your best resource for any assistance you may need, personally or academically. If you are unsure of your particular one, click on the demographics section of Campus Connect.

The Office of Academic Success and Graduate Services can act as a backup to the assigned advisor.  Our office also does academic counseling for students who are on probation, continued probation or may need special assistance when they are encountering academic difficulties.

Other resources available to students are the student's individual degree audit available through their Campus Connect file, the semester by semester plan for each major and the four year course rotation plans available on the ETBU website.Tutoring services are offered by the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE).
